The most people agree that 3-d images look more attractive than 2-d. If your logotype, inscription or announcement has 3-d view, it is more probable that someone will see and memorize it. So 3-d text is the graphical tool which could be successfully applied by designers and ordinary people.
T-Mapper2 was created in order to make creation of 3-d text easy and comfortable task. Program has friendly interface and could be managed by any person. Interface consists of menu and two tabs (Background and Words).
Background tab contains controls which help user create background image. Background could be created monochrome, when color is a combination of three components (“red”, ”green” or ”blue” sliders in “Background color”) or may be loaded from jpeg or bmp file (“Load Background” button). Background tab has additional option to create 3-d frames and figures. In order to create one user must have or prepare monochrome image or image with monochrome part, which would be used for mask creation. “Load mask” button helps to load this image. By clicking the mouse on the mask image user chooses the figure in mask image which would be transferred in 3-d. The color of this figure is shown in the field under “Load mask”. Six sliders in mask section help to edit the mask material and illumination. It is advisable to set for mask image the same sizes as for background image, elsewhere distortions are possible.
Words tab helps to create and map 3-d looking words. Upper field shows the text of created word in appropriate color and font. Lower combo boxes and check box help user to choose needed font. Upper two sliders set the size of word and its convexity. The other six sliders help to edit word material. Deformation combo box is for selection of needed deformation and four sliders below help to regulate this deformation. Profile buttons set the pattern of 2-d in 3-d transformation. “New word” button creates the word with previously installed parameters.
Menu consists of four items: “file”, “alignment”, “help”, “registration”. Menu “file” is for files saving, opening and export. Menu “alignment” helps to align selected words along vertical and horizontal directions. Menu “help” contains help instructions. Menu “registration” is for program registration in order to activate saving and export interface.
